If you have ever thought about being part of an amateur dramatic production, maybe on stage performing or off stage working behind the scenes, then feel free to contact us at Contact@brentwoodoperatic.co.uk
This is available to anyone wishing to act, sing or dance in any of the Society productions, provided that they can demonstrate their suitability to the satisfaction of the Society’s Committee. The cost of performing membership is spread out over the year by paying £15 per month via standing order. The subscription year runs from the 1st September to 31st August. Once you have auditioned to join the Society and been accepted, you will be requested to pay a one-off fee of £60 which also covers your first 4 month’s membership. Any financial situations will always be taken into consideration. For more information please contact us at Contact@brentwoodoperatic.co.uk
OFF STAGE MEMBERS
Off Stage membership is for those who do not wish to sing, act or dance but would like to be involved as part of a production team or in an administrative capacity (for example stage crew, props team, make-up, front of house, publicity). The cost will be £10 for the year.
JUNIOR UNDER 18
Currently we do not accept regular members under the age of 18. However should we need children in any our productions then we would request a one off fee of £25 per show.
AUDITION TO BECOME A MEMBER
All performing members are required to audition to join the society. For more information, please contact us at Contact@brentwoodoperatic.co.uk
Rehearsals take place on Thursdays between 7.30pm -10.15pm. We do rehearse on Tuesdays but these are generally kept for principal rehearsals until a month or so before the show when chorus are also required. The Director may pop in a couple of Sunday rehearsals if he/she feels it necessary. You will be issued with a rehearsal schedule at the start of each production.
We are a friendly and welcoming group and whilst we are only an amateur society, we do like to put on the most professional production possible, so be prepared to be put in the hard work.
We like to think we are very happy and social society and try to arrange activities outside the rehearsal period, not forgetting a well-earned visit to the pub on Thursday evenings after rehearsal. We have a social committee within the society who are working hard to organise up and coming events, so watch this space!
